1. What are the directions from the airport to the hotel?
From the Lihue Airport proceed on to Ahukini Road then turn left on Kuhio Highway 56. Follow 56 which connects with Highway 50 Kaumualii. Stay on Kaumualii (approximately 20 minutes), merge left on to Maluhia (green sign says Poipu and Koloa town). Merge right on to Koloa Road then turn left on Poipu Road. Turn right on to Kapili and left on Hoonani: 2440 Hoonani.

2. Does the hotel provide transfers to or from the airport?
Transfers can be pre-arranged through our taxi desk or Kauai Limo; guests can also catch taxis curbside at the Lihue Airport upon arrival. Approximate cost for taxi is $45.00 (shuttle service not available from the airport).

Yes, Dollar Rent A Car has a car rental service located in Garden room #7101 of the hotel. Sheraton Kauai also provides a courtesy shuttle (based on availability)

6. What activities provide transportation?
All of our helicopter tours, Will Squyres, Ohana, South Seas, and Safari as well as our ground Tour company, Polynesian Adventure Tours. Kauai Movie Tours and Outfitters Kayak Tours will also pick up at the hotel lobby.

8. Do you have a swimable beach? And is it safe for children?
We do have a very nice beach in front of the hotel which is swimable; however, in our summer months, conditions can be a little rough for small children. Poipu Beach Park is just a short walk away which has an enclosed kiddy pool.

The hotel itself does not but by signing a letter of release we can send you a list of well-known, qualified babysitters as well as prices.

No, Kiahuna Golf Course and Poipu Bay Golf Course are the closest courses and are only a five minute car ride away.

14. How is the weather on your side of the island compared to The Princeville Resort and Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas?
The Sheraton Kauai lies on the Southern coast of Kauai; Poipu is considered the sunny side of the island and the weather here is generally beautiful. Princeville is located on the North Shore of the island and details on their weather statistics can be obtained from their site.

Our very own brand new restaurant LAVA's on Poipu Beach, Enjoy Pure Bliss Happy Hour from 3-5pm and 9-11pm and live music! We also recommend Plantation Gardens, Roy's, and the Beach House, they are all very popular as well. Our guest services staff will assist you with any reservation needs.

25. How long does it take to drive around the island?
You are unable to drive completely around the island because of our Napali Coast - three thousand foot rigid cliffs that separate our north shore from our west shore. From the hotel to the end of the road north you should allow two hours. From the hotel going west you should allow one hour and a half.

27. What is the average size of your rooms?
There are five room types at the Sheraton Kauai Resort, with different room sizes. These range from 410 square feet for the Garden and Partial Ocean View Rooms, up to 510-530 square feet for the Lagoon & Deluxe Ocean with suites averaging between 1300 and 1600 square feet.

An ATM machine is located in our main ocean lobby next to the upper concierge desk, behind our guest news library. Non First Hawaiian Bank customers are assessed a $4.00 transaction fee which is subject to change without notice.

29. When can we expect to have renovation complete?
As we move forward to enhancing and creating Poipu Beach’s newest playground, Sheraton Kauai Resort recently opened its new oceanfront pool and Lava’s on Poipu Beach restaurant in mid August. By the first quarter of 2012 we anticipate the completion of the project, including The Link Café, ocean courtyard and breezeway and concluding with the grand opening of the south shore’s newest oceanfront restaurant, Rumfire, Poipu Beach Kauai.
