Sheraton Kauai Resort is pleased to announce the appointment of Shoji Namatame to executive chef for the Sheraton Kauai Resort, one of the Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Hawaii.

Namatame has worked for Starwood Hotels & Resorts since 1996, his most recent post being executive chef at the Bora Bora Nui Resort & Spa in Tahiti. Prior to that, he was executive chef at the Kapalua Bay Hotel on Maui. He has also worked at The Westin Resort in Guam and The Westin Maui Resort & Spa.

Originally from Japan, Namatame has lived in numerous places both nationally and internationally including: the Pacific Northwest, Guam, French Polynesia, China, Australia, Maui and now Kauai. As a result of his diverse background and numerous life mentors, Namatame has distilled his cooking philosophy to be “to create simple things that taste great. Simple is best.”
