WELLNESS & FITNESS AT THE SHERATON KAUAI RESORT
Pamper yourself at the Sheraton Kauai Resort on Kauai's sun-drenched Poipu Beach. Once the playground of Hawaiian Chiefs, we now invite you to enjoy our full array of amenities that will soothe, relax and gratify your mind, body and spirit – without ever leaving the property.
In addition to the resort's idyllic seaside setting, the Sheraton Kauai Resort proudly offers an array of delightful, health and wellness amenities. Overlooking stunning Poipu Beach and cresting ocean swells as they break on the lava rock point, our air conditioned, glass-encased fitness club features the latest in exercise equipment such as stationary bicycles, treadmills, stair steppers, and strength training equipment.
Sheraton Kauai Resort features two fresh-water swimming pools. The Beach Pool is located alongside Poipu Beach and the Garden Pool is set amidst the gardens and koi-ponds in the resort's Garden Wing. Both pools have a children's pool, with the Beach Pool also having a slide and a whirlpool, while the Garden Pool is embellished with a shimmering waterfall.
The Beach Activities Center is located next to the Beach Pool and provides complimentary towels for both pools. Open daily, the Beach Activities Center offers a variety of beach equipment for rent such as snorkeling gear, body boards, umbrellas, beach chairs and cabanas in addition to merchandise for sale. Shop for suntan lotion and t-shirts in this convenient location. The center also provides snorkeling and scuba lessons by appointment, or one can arrange for surfing lessons, SCUBA diver certification, and other water activities.
Sheraton Kauai Resort features three, ocean-view, hard surface tennis courts, two of which are lighted for evening games. For those who like to walk or jog, there are several enjoyable walks/runs along our beautiful coastline, ranging from a mile to 10 miles in length. Ask the Concierge, and they can suggest the route best suited to your needs or experience the Koloa Heritage Trail.
And when your workout or play session is complete, top-off the day's activities by treating yourself to an array of beauty treatments and massage therapy. An unusual massage featured in our spa is the luxurious hot lava stone massage. Hot lava rocks are placed along the spine to warm muscles that will be massaged once expert hands have kneaded away tension and cares in the extremities and neck. In addition to the hot lava rock treatment, the Massage Center offers a daily variety of relaxing and invigorating treats, including Swedish, Shiatsu and Sports Massage, Reflexology, Lomi Lomi, Aromatherapy, Facials, Waxing, Body Wraps and Body Glow. You can even make an appointment for a massage in your room. All therapists are Hawaii State Certified. And, don't forget the finishing touches. Our beauty salon, located in the Garden Wing will help you ensure that your hair, nails, face and make-up are in flawless condition.
While all of our guests feel young at heart, we have a special health and wellness program for children. Called the Keiki Aloha Club, this fun, cultural and energetic program is for young guests between 5 and 12 years of age. Keiki Aloha's partial and full day programs are filled with athletic games and plenty of play time, guaranteed to make them sleep well at night! Pool activities are favorites with the younger set and all Keiki Aloha staff members are lifeguard certified. Swim tests are performed to determine each child's ability. Staff then closely monitors the kids in an array of pool games including pool football and basketball, tag, diving for weighted neon sticks and just plain fun with kick boards and noodles. For non-swimmers, life jackets and/or water wings are provided.
Keiki Aloha also provides lawn games, such as horseshoes, scoopball, soccer and Frisbee-tossing. These activities are supplemented with Native Hawaiian games, including "ulu maika" a lawn bowling game using round lava stones, and "moa pahee" the throwing of a dart or teardrop shaped piece of koa wood that is tossed between pegs. Kids also make and fly kites, learn hula steps, do sand sculptures hike and investigate the tidepools along the shoreline. Bamboo pole fishing and coconut bowling are favorites of the keiki.
